As of now, this blog is meant only as an informative tool for anyone considering driving to the Summit. I am not in any way involved in planning rides or transportation. Due to radically changed circumstances since December, I will be traveling by bus most of the way rather than driving. With that in mind, I pray this blog is still helpful, and look forward to the ways God is going to work through this incredible event.
I have begun blogging about the conference itself at my other site, The Blue Gator Times. Check it out, and enjoy the journey.

What about tolls?
So far, the only tolls I am aware of on this route are on the Florida Turnpike, between South Florida and Interstate 75. Total cost: about $16, or about $11 if you use SunPass, which I highly recommend. For $15 ($5 for the device, $10 minimum for prepaid tolls), you can buy a sticker-like transponder for your car windshield, that does not require batteries. It works on EVERY toll road in Florida, not just the the Turnpike. Details: https://www.sunpass.com/index

Welcome to San Antonio Road Trippers!

Members and friends of the South Florida Church of Christ now have a fantastic, God-given opportunity to share such a great adventure together: our family of churches' signature event of 2012, the World Discipleship Summit in San Antonio. I created this blog to help make this adventure a reality for all who dare, based on years of my own travel logs as I have driven between Florida and Massachusetts ever since my days as a student at the University of Florida.
